SDG3: GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Good health is supported by nutrition, and without regular and nutritious food, people cannot live, learn, prevent diseases, or lead productive lives. Key goals in this area include: reducing mental health mortality rates; ending infant and child mortality; combating infectious diseases; preventing and treating drug addiction; and achieving universal health coverage for families.

Achievements of Al-Noor College in the Goal of Good Health and Well-Being:
1. Lecture on obesity, underweight, weight-related diseases, their causes, and effects.
2. Cultural celebration and a warm family outing for thalassemia patients.
3. Workshop on drugs: classification, detection methods, and their impact on health and society.
4. Participation of our students in an advanced dental implant course in Turkey.
5. A group of students visited the blood bank at Hamdaniya Hospital.
6. Seminar titled "The Risks of Zinc Deficiency on Human Life, Its Benefits, and Best Natural Sources."
7. Scientific seminar on "Contact Lenses and Artificial Eyes."
8. In collaboration with Al-Khansa Hospital, Al-Noor College organized a vaccination campaign against the coronavirus.
9. A delegation from the college visited Ibn Al-Athir Educational Hospital, providing financial donations and gifts to children with leukemia.
10. Opening of the educational dental clinics to receive patients.
11. Course on occupational safety.
12. Workshop titled "The Role of Psychoanalytic Therapy in Treating Psychological Disorders."
13. Workshop on "Stem Cells in Eye Treatment."
14. Workshop on "Passive Smoking and Its Effects on Human Health."
15. Lecture on "Gene Therapy."
16. Awareness campaigns at our college regarding hemorrhagic fever.
17. Visit to Al-Salam Hospital in central Mosul.
18. Workshop titled "Eating Disorders and How to Prevent Them."
19. Members of the Thalassemia Committee visited the Thalassemia Ward at Ibn Al-Athir Hospital.
20. The college gifted a realistic prosthetic eye to a patient who lost their right eye.
21. Field visit to the Excellence Secondary School to deliver an educational lecture on "Breast Cancer."
22. Scientific seminar titled "Insulin a Century After Its Discovery."
23. The Pharmacy Department organized an Antibiotics Awareness Week at the college.
24. Scientific visit to the intravenous solutions laboratory in Nineveh.
25. Lecture on "Epidemiological Studies Used in Clinical Medicine and Public Health."
26. Seminar titled "Dry Mouth: A New Non-Medical Treatment Method."
27. Educational workshop on "The Danger of Drugs."
28. Scientific workshop on types of ceramics used in crown and bridge manufacturing.
29. The college participated in the second AI and Robotics Innovation Forum, providing free vision services (eye exams).
30. The Thalassemia Committee visited the Thalassemia Association in Nineveh and Al-Hadbaa Specialized Hospital for Blood Diseases and Bone Marrow Transplantation.
31. Opening of a medical clinic at the college, managed by a specialist doctor with necessary medical supplies.
32. Provision of an ambulance at the college to ensure emergency transport to the hospital when needed.
33. Visit by the Thalassemia Committee to Al-Hadbaa Specialized Hospital within Ibn Al-Athir Hospital.
34. Lecture by Anesthesia Department students on the dangers of drugs at a private school.
35. Seminar on the risks of addiction.
